Music Theory
We are pleased to offer all levels of music theory tuition. Apart from the obvious benefits of being able to understand music thoroughly, theory graded examinations are important qualifications for future aspirations in music. Some students come specifically for music theory, even though they are having instrumental tuition in schools or colleges.
Theory lessons are usually taught in small groups, where we attempt to have students who are of a similar level.
Group tuition is £8 per hour for our instrumental students and £10 per hour for students who are not enrolled at Associated Music Teachers.
Should a student wish to have individual lessons, rather than learning with other students in a group situation, this can be arranged on the same basis as individual instrumental lessons at a cost of £13.
We will process exam entries for students and notify them of dates, times and venues and of the grade to be taken. We have a 100% pass rate (grades 1 to 8) with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Exam board ( A.B.R.S.M.).

GCSE & Advanced Level Music
Associated Music Teachers offer support with school and college courses. Listening exam papers, compositions and performance tuition are all part of the service. In the last 7 years we have enabled all students to achieve A*, A and B grades at examination.

Diploma Preparation
Apart from instrumental tuition at this level, we can offer harmony, analysis and composition training. We are also happy to teach practical musicianship with coaching in figured bass realisation, sight transposition, aural memory, aural harmony and extemporisation.
